Greenwood Furnace - 20 This is about a 4hr loop for most intermediate level riders

Start out by taking a short spin up Rte 305 and turning left onto Rag Hollow Rd. Climb slowly up Rag Hollow Rd. for the first 1.5 miles. At this point, you'll turn left off the road and begin the more steady climb up Sassafras Trail. Once you reach the top of Sassafras Trail, head up Kettle Rd for a short distance before reentering Sassafras Trail (the upper portion) this time. Follow this for the entire length, going past the Sassy Pig Trail turn off, eventually doing the sharp drop to Flat Road Trail.

Cross over Flat Road Trail and continue down Sassafras XX for continued flow fun. This drops down, then criss-crosses a stream before a minor little climb and, finally, you drop down a camp road to Coopers Gap Rd.

Turn right on Coopers Gap Rd and complete the short climb to the entrance of Shittaka and Deer Tick. Turn right and begin the slow meandering climb of Deer Tick to the top where it meets Beautiful Trail.

This would be a good rest spot, as you have earned it before heading out across Beautiful Trail. Follow Beautiful Trail until you get to Conklin Rd, cross over Conklin Rd and delve straight into the first part of Chicken Peter. Following this until it merges with Coopers Gap Rd, stay on the trail for the short grunt climb until it comes out in a clearing where you can make a left onto Coopers Gap Rd at the intersection with Kettle Rd.

Head up Kettle for the long slow climb, which is an easier alternative to the Peep Trail climb at this point. Make a left on Rag Hollow Rd and soon there after, another left off of the road and on to Bigelow Trail. If you get to the hairpin in the road, you have gone too far. Follow Bigelow Trail until it intersects Pig Pile Trail, turning right onto Pig Pile Trail.

From here, it is a blast heading down to Barrville Rd. When you hit Barrville Rd, turn right and travel a short distance before gently veering right onto Old Lewistown Pike trail. This will drop you back down to, you guessed it Rag Hollow Rd. Turn left onto Rag Hollow Rd and right on Rte 305 and you'll be back at your car in no time.
