    Rock Garden

Beginning at a log crossing just off the intersection of the Nature Trail, the Expert Trail starts its meandering path. The trail winds past the northern end of the gas line and extends to where it re-crosses the gas line, behind the Armory. Keep your eye out, as this one is located just west of the leaf mulch piles, across from the Parking Lot Connector.

The trail makes five passes across the length of the wooded area between the Nature Trail, gas line and the leaf mulch piles. It contains numerous log crossings, short rock gardens, and several rock piles on the first four legs crossing the area. Grades are fairly level.

There is a bailout point to the Nature Trail or Cinnamon Run near the start of the fifth leg. The fifth leg contains the largest rocks in the park, just before it crosses the Nature Trail. The last segment between the Nature Trail and the gas line crossing is a near continuous rock garden. Advanced or very strong intermediate skills are required for this trail.
