Flow Track Details
Clocking in at a mere 800 feet in length, This "flow trail" certainly does not win any awards when it comes to distance. However, being the only proper flow trail, (reminiscent of those built by Gravity Logic at ski resort-based bike parks) in the Oneonta trail network, the trail earns it's fame in a slightly different capacity. Completely hand built, with no help from machines whatsoever, one can only begin to appreciate just how much work it required to remove the trees, and build the berms, and jumps featured on this trail, until they have the chance to ride it.
The trail can be accessed about one third of the way down "Nemesis," and is marked with a sign at the fork. After the first turn in the trail, there is a small "road gap" which can be hit at whatever speed you feel most comfortable. Landing in the "road" is an option as the jump only sits about 2 feet above ground level. The trail continues into another major turn, before crossing the gas pipeline, and then continues on the soft, loamy soil through the beautiful Hemlock forest while merging near the bottom of the "Wippie Hippie" trail which is also full of exciting man-made features. The long-term plan is to disconnect the trail from Wippie Hippie, and add more berms, and jumps on the original side of the pipeline. The trail has been flagged out, but the current connection to Wippie Hippie provides an exciting alternate route so that thrill-seeking riders can enjoy the pleasure of the existing trail, while the rest is under construction.
