Hyalite Creek Details
This trail follows Hyalite Creek past a series of cascading waterfalls eventually leading you to Hyalite Lake. While the trail grade is moderate most of the way, quick crunchy climbs littered with rocks and roots contribute to its devious challenge. Not only that but this trail has a tendency to hold moisture as small creeks cross it/run down it especially early season and during wet summers, upping the technical ante. Leave your bike at the junction with the Squaw Creek Divide Trail and walk the last hundred yards to the lake as bikes are prohibited above this intersection. The challenging climb will be rewarded on the return descent as the wide singletrack will provide many line choices allowing you to take advantage of the multitude of natural features littering the trail. This trail is also subject to the Trail Time Share which prohibits mountain biking on Fridays and Saturdays between July 16 and September 4.
Follow Hyalite Canyon Rd past reservoir, bearing right at the intersection with east fork of Hyalite Creek Rd. Follow all the way to the end and park at the popular Hyalite Creek trailhead.
