Great ride. Can be shuttled or you can ride the road up. The trail is used by motorcycles. There are gnarly sections, but they are short.

You start-out on trail #480 for .6 miles then right on #171 (Ingalls), after 5 miles you cross Griffin Creek road, another 2 miles and you reach the old Forest Service Guard Station (Can be rented through the Forest Service Cabin Rental Program). In early Spring the lower .5 miles flood.

I like riding this the opposite way as a moderate 15 mile loop. Start at the FS RD 2925 crossing where Griffen Road meets 2925. Start climbing south on Trail #171 (Ingalls Mountain). After you summet you get a great descent down to trail #480 where you take a left for even more payoff! Its an easy 5 mile road ride back to the car from here (2.5 miles is down hill).
