A double track climb takes you to the start of this trail, which, after the 2009 burn is more open and sandy than before. Good views of the valley and the old Minto City townsite, as well as Gun Creek Hydro Campground at the lookout, found at the end of the short spur track. A quick decent lets you rejoin the double track that was once the Minto City-Tyuaghton Lake trail.
