Easy ride or hike to the historic Lille townsite. The GPS track generally follows the Gold Creek valley and includes a 125 m detour to the powerhouse ruin at No. 1 Mine just before the second crossing of Gold Creek. The remains of the cemetery are about 50 m west of the trail just before the third crossing of Gold Creek and a beautiful waterfall is about 250 m north of this crossing. The main townsite is north of the crossing of Morin Creek. Check the interpretive sign here for more information about the various ruins, especially the unique coke ovens. From the town site the GPS track continues east about 1 km to the site of the No. 2 Mine.

Access Info

Access is via the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre paved access road which starts on Highway 3 on the east side of Frank. At the hairpin turn, go straight and drive over the cattleguard onto the gravel road. Follow it 1.6 km uphill, then turn left. Drive north for 2.4 km and park. This is where the GPS track starts.
