The best direction to ride is from Okahu Road end to River Road car park as you'll have less uphill and get to finish with a long downhill. Be cautious of other track users though!!
The track is 95km's southwest of Rotorua along State Highway 5 and then 38, on the way to Lake Waikaremoana. The best option for transport is to park the car at Whirinaki Forest Holidays and have them drive your car to and from the road ends which are 37km's apart.
Alternatively, drive/ride 30km's east from Minginui village to the end of Okahu Rd. NB: Okahu Rd is a narrow gravel road.
