South Branch Trail Details
South Branch Trail has an isolated, "wild" flavor. It's an out-and-back ride with no connecting trails, deep in a dark hollow along the South Branch of Tunkhannock Creek. The trail begins as a 5-foot grassy margin along a farmyard. It continues in the woods on rolling hills and rooty singletrack. Next is a short, punchy climb up a power line cutting. The last portion is smooth doubletrack.
Riding westward, access is from Grist Mill Rd. The trail is clearly visible here. Eastward, access is from Cole Rd. The first half mile of the trail is a 5 foot shoulder of a grassy, unplowed farmyard. Trail visibility here is poor-to-nonexistent. The visible part of the trail begins at the northeast corner of the farmyard. A sign marked "Hull Conservation Easement" marks the spot.
