The bottom section has seen some work in recent years to add in some switch backs. Some beautiful sections through a meadow, but a lot of this trail is very steep and can be pretty washed out. Also as typical with this area of AF, dirtbikes can rut it out in the shady areas. Best down or bring a granny gear.

Access Info

Access from the Tibble Fork Reservoir. Also common to shuttle to the summit parking lot and ride down from Ridge 157

The Tibble Fork #041 trail is closed for the 2016 season from the Mud Springs trail intersection on down to the dam. The upper half of the trail will still be open. The reason for the closure is the Tibble Fork reservoir dam is being rebuilt so there won't be a trail outlet. PLEASE DON'T ATTEMPT TO RIDE DOWN IT! Parking at Tibble will also be an issue all summer long as the parking lot will be taken up with staging and heavy equipment, plus the parking lot is going to be rebuilt at the same time (pushed farther north).

Will it re-open the following year, or is it gone for good. I can shorten the trail, so that the bottom section does not appear, or hide it until it re-opens
