Woodruff Ridge Details
Woodruff Ridge features a remote, technical ride following a scenic creek. By itself, Woodruff is a short but enjoyable out and back. Many riders will start a long Wilson's classic by climbing Woodruff to link up to Wilson Ridge (21 Jumps) to Schoolhouse Ridge. Ride up Edgemont Road to the top of Woodruff to finish off this outing with a descent back down Woodruff. Starting this ride as a climb allows you to scout your DH lines for the return. The upper crux features a boulder garden with several lines. Speed picks up for a rally down buff single track. Pay particular attention to the rock slab above the waterfall near the trail's end. This is Optimus Crux. Thread the needle on this one or risk a swim.
Access to this area is via Anthony's Creek Road in the Globe Community south of Blowing Rock or from Edgemont Road in the Edgemont Community. For the recommended link up with Wilson Ridge and Schoolhouse Ridge, park at the trail head on Anthony's Creek Road just west of the junction of Globe Road and Anthony's Creek Road.
