2025 Spanish Trailforks Admins Meetup
It's already been a year time flies! After last year third Trailforks Spain admin meetup in Tierras Altas de Soria, hosted by the amazing Enrico (thanks!!), it was time for this year’s gathering. The basic idea? Just meet up one random weekend, ride both days to get to know the area, have a big dinner, drink way too much, and that’s it—nice and simple.
The date: first weekend of June. The place: the well-known MTB destination Basaburua, led by the awesome Manu. Besides maintaining the area and managing all the trails along with a strong local community, he’s also (of course) a Trailforks admin. On top of that, he’s a power user of the platform—he really makes the most of it from a trailbuilder’s perspective, using it for his work reports and more.

In the end, between family plans, work, and everything else, nearly 20 admins managed to make it over the 3 days—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I’d already been camped out in the area a few days earlier and got the chance to ride some trails with Manu and a few locals. When I arrived on Monday it had been pouring, so we waited until Wednesday to head out and avoid a total mudfest. The advantage of going with the local boss is that he knows exactly which trails hold up better after rain, which ones dry faster, etc. I had an absolute blast discovering the area—it was all new to me.
After the welcome meetup, we handed out a few goodies from Trailforks and some folding saws from Trupper, kindly provided by David from MuchMoreTrails (thanks!!) — a few people put them to use right away.
We enjoyed every single meter of trail that Manu showed us. There was plenty of banter too: “No way this is a red,” “I’m gonna die here, I’m not riding down that,” and of course, someone had extra battery power (one in each leg) and did more kilometers than the Duracell bunny. On Saturday we had two riding sessions to choose from. I joined the afternoon one with my muscle bike and nearly died—got cramps in muscles I didn’t even know existed.
And of course, after a beating like that, we had to refuel. We had an epic dinner organized by Manu at the local tavern in Jaunsarats, where we had a blast… and a few of us maybe went a little too hard on the wine and beer (myself included).
It was a weekend to have fun, build community, and just enjoy riding together. Can’t wait for the next meetup!
