Welcome to Round #3 of the FNQ Inter-School MTB series
Event: Inter-school MTB series - Enduro Format

3 x categories- As per AUS CYCLING guidelines all categories are male or female 10-12yr 13-15yr 16-19yr

8am Plate collection

8:15-8:30 bike and gear safety check

8:45 rider /parent briefing

9am - race start

Event Registration will be open from 1-2 weeks before the event and each category will be capped at 20 competitors, so we will not have more than 60 total competitors and there will be no allowance for on the day registration.

Race Stage Layout: As follows
Riders have 3 hours to complete their 3 stages as noted below

Rider in 10-12yr group will do stages 1-3

Riders in 13-15yr + 16-19yr will do stages 2-4

Riders will have to complete all 3 required stages to finish the race, riders can do re runs of each stage up to 3 times on each stages if time allows, you need to be back to event site buy cut off time

Riders 13-15yr + 16-19yr must have Australian standard full face helmet, full long sleeves /elbow pads, full pants and knee pads, and full finger gloves.

Bike suitability -Juniors will need a mountain bike with functioning, and quality brakes (preferably disc) which need to be recently serviced to ensure race readiness. We will do be doing safety assessments on bikes in the morning prior to race start again. If a bike is unsafe, the competitor will be scratched and refunded.

Course inspection: A course inspection will be completed by the event organisers 1-2 weeks prior to the event. During this inspection the organisers will have to identify any issues or improvements that require attention and then with the Cairns MTB Clubs’ approval have them rectified before the start of the event, if necessary to do so.

Signage and course marking - Start Finish signs will be out 2 weeks prior to event and course will be bunted in the days prior to the event.


Plate number will be handed out on the day and race seeding will be self seeded by the riders at the start of each stage We will not be accepting any on-the-day nominations

Race timing will be done using start and finish elect timing units Once the times are collated the results will be announced during a podium ceremony for each of the three categories All race results will be deemed as final by the race director.

Stage 1 Black Snake
Start at top of the Descent, do full trail onto flat snake up to red belly junction turn left into green frog backwards, down to get turn left to head down across bridge to finish on the other side

Stage 2 Lower Pipeline
Starting at top of Baramundi Climb, Go around back of the berm or you will miss the start, do lower section of pipeline, hard left and left agin at end to end up on ring road, head left down the road, for about 50mtr turn right then left into Greenfields ride all the way down to finish at the end junction

Stage 3 Centipede
Starting on the flat at the top fo climb, do the full track but turn left before Downhill track crossing, do small forest section taking a hard right turn to finish on the downhill bridge

Stage 4 Rocky Dingo.
Full rocky dingo from the top, onto the flat at ocean view ( small section will be added ) link over to the myndas climb, do the climb backwards to finish under the bridge on the flat
