York 38 Special / Spirit of 76 – Mountain Bike Rides – August 25, 2018

The York 38 Special is a fundraiser for York Fire Rescue

Challenging and exciting mountain bike rides covering either 38 or 76 miles of breathtaking scenery through the Big Belt Mountains in the Helena National Forest. You will gain 3,000 vertical feet from lowest point (Nelson) of the ride traveling mainly on dirt roads.

The York 38 Special/Spirit of 76 has six aid stations with refreshments and EMTs - staggered riding starts between 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. – Spirit of 76 starts at 6:30 a.m

Registration cost is $50 until 8/8/18 (after 8/8/18 a late fee of $10 applies). Registration fee for 38 Special and Spirit of 76 riders includes a rider shirt, tote and a burger.

Lucky 13 Family Ride – August 25, 2018

This bike ride is also a fundraiser for York Fire Rescue. It gently climbs along beautiful Trout Creek Canyon from York to Vigilante Campground and back. Half of the route is paved. We have two aid stations with refreshments along the way. It is an affordable ride for all ages.

The Lucky 13 starts between 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Registration site is the York Fire Station, 6042 Nelson Road, Helena/York, MT.

Cost $15/adult and $10 children (12 and under), family of 5+ is $50.

Price per night is $119 plus tax. Please call them directly. The room block is available until July 20.
The York Fire Station (start line) is approx. 19 miles from the hotel, and it is easy to find. Go onto Custer Ave, make a left towards York Road and keep on going approx. 17 miles.

Camping is available on a first come first serve basis at:

Vigilante Campground - approx. 7 miles from the York Fire Station at the very end of York Road, or at
Devils Elbow Campground, just before you cross over York Bridge, also approx. 7 miles to the start line.
