The New Castle Dirty Dozen is a lap style cross county mountain bike race utilizing various trails within the Colorow Trail Network, in New Castle, Colorado. The Dirty Dozen got it's name from the locally revered Dirty Dozen, which is a segment of 12 challenging switchbacks that riders must navigate while on the Stairway to Heaven Trail.
3 race formats are being offered:
1 Dirty Dozen: 1 lap on the Colorow Trail Network course travelling 10 miles and climbing approximately 2,000 feet
2 Dirty Dozens: 2 laps on the Colorow Trail Network course travelling 20 miles and climbing approximately 4,000 feet
Youth Race: 1 lap on the lower portion of the Stairway to Heaven Trail and the Goose Colorowflow Trail. Approximately 4 miles in length.
