Helena Ales for Trails event

Helena Ales for Trails strives to contribute to the community of Helena by raising funds for the Helena Trail System. 2019’s festival will give all proceeds to the construction of a newly renovated trailhead at the top of the Ridgeline Trail and the Helena Trail Rider, Helena’s free community bike shuttle. The Forest Service and City of Helena Parks and Recreation are leading the charge on the trailhead construction.

The event is led by a consortium of community leaders from a variety of sectors. We’re proud to partner with local businesses, city and county government, and private citizens to host and sponsor Helena Ales for Trails. In addition to the myriad of people involved in planning, Helena Ales for Trails utilizes over 150 volunteers on the day of the event. Over the first 8 years, we’ve raised over $100,000 for local trails, all which was distributed to Friends of Centennial Trail (Centennial Trail Project), Prickly Pear Land Trust (Peaks to Creek Project), and Helena Parks and Recreation (Ascension Downhill Project).

Keeping it Downtown... This year’s event will happen in Pioneer Park (located next to Lewis & Clark Library at the far southern end of the walking mall).

Date & Time... The 9th Annual Helena Ales for Trails is scheduled for Friday, May 17th from 3:30 to 9:00pm. (Please note that 3:30pm to 5:00pm is reserved for the VIP pre-event, while the main event experience is from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.)

Participating Breweries... This year we will be featuring a total of 18 breweries, 1 winery, and 2 cideries. Back for 2019: Blackfoot River (Helena), Ten Mile (Helena), Lewis & Clark (Helena), Crooked Furrow (Helena), Snowhop (Helena), Draughtworks (Missoula), Blacksmith (Stevensville), Homestead (Eureka), Carter’s (Billings), MAP (Bozeman), 2Basset (White Sulphur Springs), Cabinet Mountain (Libby), Montana Cider Works (Sula, MT), Flathead Lake (Lakeside), Smelter City (Anaconda) and Sean Minor. New for 2019? We’re working on that now and will update this as we progress.
