2022 Nordic Meister Regulations

Registration and Bib Pick-up: Bib pick-up as well as day-of and in-person registrations take place at Great Glen Trails Rental Shop located on the first floor of the Base Lodge. Masks recommended when inside the building.

Bibs: On the first day of the series, you exhange a $50 cash or check deposit for your bib for the entirety of the 8-week series. You will be responsbible for bringing your bib to race each week. If you forget your bib, you will race with a disposable paper bib. You will get your deposit back when you have returned your bib at the end of the series. All bibs must be turned in by March 31st.

Warming up: Your bib must be covered while warming up. This helps to prevent timing mistakes.

Start: When you are ready to log your time you check in at the timing building at the start in the stadium area. Please be courteous and patient when talking with the timing crew. When appropriate, uncover your bib and tell the timing crew your bib number and whether you are going to race skate or classic, and long or short. The timing crew will let you know when to start. There will be a mandatory 1 minute time differential between racers. Racers must start at the starting line from a standstill, no “flying starts.”

Finish: After you have finished your race please cover your bib again. This helps to prevent timing mistakes. You will be responsible to bring your bib home with you that week and bring it back for the next week. If you received a paper bib, please dispose of it at home.

Race Course: Participants have the option of skiing the long course (~5km) or the short course (~3km). The course varies each winter.

Check your time: It's a good idea to wear a GPS timing watch so that you can get a sense of your own time on course. The timing crew will have your unofficial time until age adjustments have been calculated. If you do not wear a GPS watch, you may ask the timing crew what your unofficial time is only if there are no other racers starting or finishing.

Official times: With an adjustment system, all ages can compete on a level playing field. Official times will be emailed to competitors on Wednesday, posted on the Nordic Meisters webpage, and published in the Conway Daily Sun on Friday.

Award qualification: Each week we will randomly draw prize winnters from both the top tier racers and from the entire pool of participants for that week. An individual is only eligible for one prize for the season. To be placed in the final standings for the season, a racer must complete six out of eight races in either skate or classic.

Have fun
