Mountain Bike Trail Workday
Trail Day Details:

Henry Horton State Park is excited to announce we have begun construction on the park’s first mountain bike trail system. Our plan is to add roughly 10 miles of a quality single track trail located on the South end of the park. Our staff will be working diligently over the next year on the first phase of this project which will consist of the first 6.8 miles of the trail system.

So that we can complete this project faster we will be hosting regular Volunteer trail workdays throughout the year. If you enjoy being outside in the beautiful outdoors while working hard and getting dirty, then these trail workdays are right up your alley. Volunteers will meet at Henry Horton State Park Trap and Skeet Range at 9:00am. Volunteers should be prepared to spend roughly 3 hours in the woods utilizing hand tools to clear brush and dig trail. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Closed toed shoes are required. Water will be available, but we ask that you bring a reusable water bottle to cut down on waste. If you have any questions, please contact Ranger Jesse Jewell at [email protected] or (931) 494-6660. We look forward to seeing you on the trail.
