      Tucked away in the Sylvia Creek valley close to the centre of Atherton is Atherton Forest Mountain Bike Park (AFMBP). AFMBP is an initiative of Tableland Cycle Sports Inc (TCS Inc) and is jointly managed and mainitained by TCS Inc and QPWS. The trail network was funded over 10 years ago by a $1.3million grant from the Federal and State Governments and Tablelands Regional Council. AFMBP is located in the Herberton Range State Forest and Mount Baldy Forest Reserve and features open eucalypt forests, valleys, seasonal creek crossings and waterfalls and spectacular views of the Atherton Tablelands. It has a dry volcanic soil with a lot of loose rock surfaces and pockets of rainforest. Wildlife including kangaroos, birds, cockatoos, bandicoots and snakes can be seen on rides. The majority of the trail network was designed and constructed by World Trail Pty Ltd with significant input by Glen Jacobs. The network has been designed around great lookouts where you will find hand-built stone chairs positioned to take advantage of the views.

You will come across them working on our green trails and town trails. Keep an eye out for them and make sure you give them a big thanks as you ride safely past.
