Big park with many hiking trails and one or two shared-use trails. The main one of interest to mountain bikers is the Silver King Basin trail, which is an 8.6km steady climb to an alpine basin with a beautiful overnight cabin named after one of the area's environmentalists who helped to close the Babine Mountains to mining and open them up to recreational use instead. From the basin it is possible to climb up over Cronin/Hyland Pass and then descend the Cronin Creek Trail to roughly the 35km mark on Babine Lake Road, however, it is much more recommended to start at the Cronin Creek Trailhead, climb the pass, descend into Silver King Basin, and follow the Silver King Trail back to the Driftwood Road parking lot, or back to Smithers if you still have the legs for a few extra km The off-road portion of the traverse is about 25km, and biking to/from town bumps it up to at least 40. Can be done in a day.
      Primary Trail Type: Cross-Country
AKA: Silver King, Cronin, Hyland Pass
      Land Status: Provincial Park

      Access Info:
Cronin Creek Trailhead on Babine Lake Road, roughly 35 km in the sticks...there are yellow signs every kilometer to let you know where you are. The Cronin Creek Trailhead is marked on the left with a small blue sign, and it is roughly 1 km past the Little Joe Lakes Trailhead which is also marked with a blue sign.
