BCWT has fifteen+ loops ranging from beginner to advanced. They all lead off and return to the main trail called Ranger (white). The exception to this rule is the Patriots trail. The Patriots trail starts and ends near the parking lot by the pavilion and crosses over several other trails. To avoid confusion, it is recommended to ride Patriots trail as a complete loop separate from the other loops.
Hours: Dawn till Dusk Tuesday through Saturday. Closed on Monday to let area rest, but open on major holidays that fall on Mondays. Closed Sunday mornings until 1:00pm for church service.
No motorized vehicles, like ATV's or motorcycles are allowed anywhere on BCWT property. Class 1, 2, and 3 ebikes are allowed. Ebikes without a rating, eg SurRon are not allowed.
The Patriot Pavilion is open for use with bathrooms and showers.
Please do not park in the church parking lot or the area around the ONCOR transformer station.
Check trailforks.com or DORBA.ORG for trail status.
Big Cedar Wilderness Trails is located atop one of the most breathtaking escarpment areas in North Texas. Boasting the highest elevation in the city of Dallas, BCWT winds through cedar and hardwood forest and descends quickly into a valley in a dramatic elevation change. The valley consists mostly of mesquite trees and cactus.
Explanation of Trail Statuses:
Green = All trails are open.
Yellow = Top Trails / Race Loop are open. Lower trails are closed, usually due to wet conditions.
Red = All Trails are closed.
