SaveLots of double track walking trails with single track cut in around two reservoirs and a lake with some good rock climbing. This region is easily accessible from three different areas. There are steep technical climbs and descents. Just enough rocks and roots to keep things interesting and leaving you satisfied after a 12 mile ride.
Route 82 was washed out back in 1987 when hurricane came up the coast and caused Hay Creek's water level to rise high enough to wash away a good section of road. The road has been closed ever since and used by hikers and bikers ever since with no plans of reopening it to traffic. The road runs through the center of the preserve with trail heads at either entrance. Another trail head is accessible from Cocalico Road.
When parking at the Cocalico Trail Head Lot, please be mindful of the neighbor. There is a fence that separates his property from the lot, but he used to maintain that whole area until the city removed it from him. Basically don't let your dogs roam on his property and relieve themselves in the drive way.
As a side note, it is possible to connect this whole area to French Creek, but they are two distinct riding areas.
