Bokpoort Farm is a place of unparalleled splendour.

Located 7 km from the Eastern Free State hot spot of Clarens and nestled in the rolling hills of the Maluti Mountains, Bokpoort offers mountain biking, hiking and horse riding as well as a variety of accommodations ranging from the luxurious Bokpoort Mountain Lodge to rustic mountain cabins and camping.

Bokpoort is steeped in history and resembles the melting pot of culture and beauty upon which it was founded.​It is a world of vast spaces, endless skies, magical sunrises and romantic sunsets. Breathe pure mountain air as you take in everything that nature has to offer.

The farm is home to an abundance of plant and wildlife species which can be found as you explore the mountains, dams, rivers and caves this sanctuary has to offer.

Four superb luxury cottages offer a sophisticated simplicity that reflects elegant mountain-inspired design and the loft level second bedrooms make the cottages ideal for families or groups of friends. Verandas with magnificent views offer alfresco lounging and dining in front of built-in braais.

Four additional standard and mountain cottages offer more intimate accommodation for couples – set away from the main pavilion they offer more privacy and are perfect for a romantic or quiet getaway.

​All cottages are self-catering accommodation but breakfast can be arranged on request.

Mountain adventures abound here for individuals, couples, friends, even companies - but especially for families. Small group and personalised guest activities can be arranged and children of all ages are welcome. The loft level in four of the cottages are an ideal secret hide-away for children to escape to. Not to mention the many child-friendly activities on offer.

Bokpoort Mountain Lodge retains all of its history, charm and character.

The guest area features an inviting fireside boma and reservoir pool deck offering big mountain views. A warm and charming bar offers a fine selection of wines and an open fireplace while comfortable seating invites intimate conversation.

​A large verandah provides you somewhere to relax while taking in the mountain air as you sit beside a roaring fire. Our farmhouse kitchen serves up mouth-watering breakfasts in a cozy dining room.

There is plenty to get the adrenalin going if you are wanting something more active; from walking our nature trails or trout fishing to horse-riding and mountain biking. We have plenty for the adventurous at heart.

Additional signature features include a one-of-a-kind obstacle course, archery and clay pigeon shooting ideally positioned to catch the mountain sunset. Enjoy sundowners as you watch the fiery orb set over distant mountains, as wide African skies open to reveal a world of constellations.
