      Sobre lo alto de las montañas occidentales de Cali, se encuentra el monumento de las Tres Cruces construido desde 1837 a 1.465 metros sobre el nivel del mar. El mito cuenta que estas Cruces están ahí para proteger la ciudad de los males de "Buziraco", demonio que desde España anunció la ruina de Cali, y tal vez por eso en Semana Santa es muy común ver la gente subiendo el Cerro para cumplir penitencia.

      Estas Cruces son gigantezcas, y se han convertido la meta de muchos deportistas que emprenden su rutina de resistencia física escalando la montaña. El camino está bien marcado; hay partes más empinadas que otras, y hay un puesto de la Policía Nacional en la mitad del recorrido que se encarga de velar la seguridad.
