SaveClifford Grant has had a number of improvements over the years that make it great for mountain biking. All the trails are green and flowy with long wide bridges over the wet areas. This is a great place to add a few extra miles to your Borderland State Park ride. This is also a very good area to bring beginner riders to experience some real mountain bike trails with small rock gardens and tight turns.
The park runs a little wet in the spring. After a light snow, it's a fantastic place to bring your fat bike. The best trail is the yellow loop in either direction. The west side is narrow single track that may need a little clipping in the late summer. The eastern side is wider double track. SEMass NEMBA and local volunteers are constantly upgrading the bridges and trails in this area.
A little about Clifford Grant: The Oliver Ames Parker Reservation, the Town Forest, and the Clifford G. Grant Reservation make up the majority of this 320acre management area. To the north is the Flyaway Pond Conservation area. The parcels are within close walking distance of parking and abut the Easton Public Schools and the baseball fields. Trails crisscross the entire management area and make it one of the most accessible open spaces in the town. The area also contains Hogshead spring, which is the beginning of Black brook, and can be found just off the trails.
