SaveLeft untouched by the last glaciation, Cypress Hills features the highest point in Saskatchewan. The area is known for its diverse ecology, rapidly transitioning from fescue prairie to boreal forest communities seen in the mountains of Banff, Montana, and Wyoming. It is the only location in Saskatchewan where lodgepole pine trees can be found and is home to a dark sky preserve.
Trails maintained by SaskParks are found throughout the park and range from smooth and paved to steep, loose, and stoney singletrack. Both the centre and west blocks are home to the Trans Canada Trail. All trails permit hiking; biking is not allowed on interpretive trails. Trails are open for cross-country skiing during the winter.
