This region is Unsanctioned, Ride at your own Risk!

Well known as a popular area for road cyclers, the Dandenong Ranges also has a lot of fire and walking trails around the mountain. This area can be very popular with walkers and even the occasional horse rider so always ride with caution.

Popular areas to the east include around Silvan Reservoir Park where tracks run up to RJ Hamer Arboretum with spectacular view toward the Great Dividing Range and Mount Donna Buang.

Doongalla Forest also has a lot of fire trails, with some very steep descents and is popular with local downhill riders near Edgar track. The Basin-Olinda Road is poorly shown on the trailforks map so I've added this dirt road section to show the proper course for this section of road.

To the south you have Sherbrooke Forest with many walking trails. The west section offers lots of fire trails north of the 1000 steps and the Kokoda Memorial Walk up to One Tree Hill.
