SaveNational park covering the mountains west of Chiang Mai city (265 square kilometres). Highest peak is Doi Pui with 1685 m. Granite bedrock with loamy soils covered by dense tropical forest. Many trails on the north, east, and south side of the hills are within easy reach of the city. There are many mountain bike trails ranging from easy to black diamond DH difficulty level, but navigation is challenging, since there is hardly any signage and unused trails tend to overgrow quickly in the jungle.
