      Drakensberg Trails is community trail system in the Northern Drakensberg, run and maintained by the local lodges, resorts, and All Out Adventure Centre.

      Come to the Northern Drakensberg, a world class riding and trail running experience literally on your doorstep. We bet you have never had a view of the majestic Amphitheatre, like the one from our trails Early morning riders will almost definitively encounter some of our eland, blesbok and zebras on the Blue, Black and Purple trails. Not to mention the beautiful flora on our Red trail, near The Cavern Resort.

      With its Trailhub located at All Out Adventures, Drakensberg Trails offers over 100km of exclusive single track in the heart of the spectacular Northern Drakensberg Mountains. Experience the best of riding and trail running in South Africa, all within a secure and safe environment; reliable colour coded trail markings; a variety of trails for all skills levels; and spares, repairs and full suspension bike rentals available at All Out Adventures, centrally located to the whole trail system.

      Our trail system can be accessed from several "On The Trails" accommodation establishments, to suite every pocket and taste, making it very convenient for riders and runners. Follow the links in the Region Supporters & Maintainers section below for more information and reservations.

      While riders can create their own routes using the Trailforks App, there are five marked routes that are colour coded, and rated for different abilities. These Routes are also available in the Trailforks App:

      1) Green Blazes: Gypsies Bend, Easier, 15km, 206m elevation gain.
      2) Blue Blazes: Montusi Gorge, Intermediate, 25km, 465m elevation gain
      3) Red Blazes: Grotto Trail, Difficult, 22km, 480m elevation gain.
      4) Black Blazes: Nook ROad, Difficult, 36km, 950m elevation gain.
      5) Purple Blazes: Berghouse Trail, Difficult, 40km, 950m elevation gain.

      MTB Rentals:
      All Out Adventures has a fleet of 26” full suspension Bergamont Contrails for rent.

      Spares and Repairs:
      Staff at All Out Adventures can assist with basic repairs & basic spares are on sale.

      Disclaimer:
      Trail Passes are required for access to all trails that are part of the Drakensberg Trails network. All trails that are part of the Drakensberg Trails network are clearly marked.

      Trails marked "Private" and "No Mountain Biking" on Trailforks, are not part of the Drakensberg Trails network and can be accessed only with prior approval from the land owner.

      Runners need trail passes if they are going to run on trails outside of their accommodation venue’s property.

      Trail passes can be purchased at All Out Adventures OR from participating resorts listed above.

      Trail Fees:
      Single Day MTB - R140 (Blue number board)
      Full Stay MTB - R340 (White number board)
      Runners / Kids under 12
      MTB Full Stay R90 (Pink wristband)

      All riders / runners must sign the Trails Indemnity.
      Passes must be clearly visible – MTB passes on handle bars. Runner’s wristbands on wrist.
      Passes are not valid after the expiry date.
      Passes may not be shared between different users.
      Once a rider / runner has a pass, they may access the trails at any time.
      The parking and toilets at All Out Adventures are open 24 hours so riders IN POSSESSION OF A VALID TRAIL PASS can start riding at any time of the day.
