Garden Trail is being restored by volunteers from the Wollondilly Macarthur Mountain Bike Club.
The Family Loop and Kids Loop opened in December 2019 and the Intermediate Trail opened in June 2020. The Advanced Trail is currently closed and undergoing restoration - this will open in late 2020.
Full details of trail reopening and volunteer trail days are found at - https://www.facebook.com/WollondillyMacarthurMTB/ and https://www.facebook.com/gardenMTBtrail/

      Trail Overview.
The trail at Australian Botanic Gardens, known as the Garden Trail, is the only authorised mountain bike trail in South-Western Sydney. It is easily accessed via the M5 motorway from Sydney and provides a range of trails suitable for novice riders and families, and right through to more challenging elements for the more experienced rider. The Garden Trail is uniquely positioned within the botanic garden with full toilet, water and picnic facilities at the trailhead.

The Garden Trail is an 11km cross-country (XC) circuit which is 100% single trail and comprised of three loops which become progressively more difficult. The loops can be ridden independently or combined for the full 11km. The trails are -

Family Loop: Rating - Green / Easy. Length - 4km.
Ideally suited for new riders and families. Relatively gentle climbs, progressive descents, wide and smooth trail with limited obstacles. Within the Family Loop is a 1km Kid’s Loop perfect for young riders or those wishing to sample an off-road trail for the first time.
More experienced riders will find the Family Loop contains many small features which, when ridden quickly, provide fun and challenging opportunities.

Intermediate Trail: Rating – Blue / Moderate. Length – 3km.
More challenging with additional climbing, faster sections, small obstacles and small jumps. Short roller-coaster flow section and log rolls. All trail features can be by-passed or rolled over with care.

Advanced Trail: Rating – Blue / Difficult. Length – 4km.
Steeper climbs, steeper descents, faster speeds, rock drops, berms, jumps, increased number of obstacles but flow is maintained. All trail features can be rolled over with care.
Note: Although trail is shown as Black on some maps this is Blue / Difficult trail.

Opening Times: Garden Trail is accessible during the Botanic Garden opening times. Please check link for opening times. https://www.australianbotanicgarden.com.au/
