SaveA rare treat in the San Rafael Swell: beginner-intermediate singletrack This trail is great: interesting but not too technical, and spectacular views into the Good Water canyon and the San Rafael Gorge. The singletrack that traces the rim of the Good Water side-canyon is about 17 miles, and taking the dirt roads back to make a loop adds about 5 more miles. Free parking at either end, or you can start from the middle. Lots of BLM camp areas. This entire area is called the "Wedge" by the local BLM and is a special recreation area. As of 2015 Oct there were no fees for camping. There area about 14 designated BLM camps within the Wedge recreation area with about 6 camp sites on the actual Wedge rim, but the BLM has been adding more from time to time. Closest town for fuel/food/emergencies is Castledale and is about 20m from the Wedge Overlook.
