Each of the valleys of La Rioja has its own peculiarities, in this case there is an abundance of rocky and granitic soils. The trails are less flowing and more technical compared to other areas, such as Nalda. Many of the trails that are opening up are old routes between villages while others are completely new.
Also, it is a quite high area with not many trees, so it can be windy and cold in winter but very hot in summer. Great for sunny winter days or spring.
