The Kettle Crest is a trail system running 40+ miles along the spine of the Kettle range in NE WA state. As a system, the Kettle Crest trail forms the backbone, with most rides consisting of climbing to attain the crest, riding along the crest for some period, and then descending via another trail. Terrain covered by the Kettle Crest Trail varies widely, from dry, grassy slopes at the South end, to burned over areas in a variety of phases of recovery, to dense forests more typical of Western WA. Many times merely crossing from one side of the ridge to another will dramatically change the landscape and views.

Trails are typically lightly used primitive singletrack, ranging from smooth and flowy to rocky chunk.

This is the most extensive backcountry trail system in WA that is nonmotorized, yet also not designated Wilderness, making it a very unique riding experience for WA mountain bikers. Please help protect this area from those who would like to designate it as Wilderness and thereby eliminate mountain bike use.
