SaveLocated just west of Whitefish off of Hwy 93 are the Lion Mountain trails, part of the the Whitefish Trails system. It's a multiuse trail system and being so close to Whitefish, it sees a lot of riders and hikers. All the trail are rated green (easy) with no techy sections and has some moderate flow.
If you are a mountain biker and are looking shred the knar, this is NOT the place to do it as this is a widely used, family oriented, dog friendly trail system that see a lot of visitorship. If you're looking to shred, drive down the road to Spence Mountain, it will more than satisfy that need.
The trails are single track, but they are relatively wide. The exception to this is the Lion Mountain Double Track that you can catch right out of the parking lot or cross while riding north on the main Lion Mountain Trail. This double track will lead you down the hill to the Cut Off Trail, the northwest end of the Lion Mountain Trail and the Whitefish Trail Learning Pavilion.
When riding in this area, be sure to include the Skyles Overlook Trail as part of your route. Once at the overlook you can take a breather while sitting on a park bench and enjoy the beautiful views of the small valley and Skyles Lake that's in front of you.

If you're a visitor and unsure of where the turnoff is to Lion Mountain, it can be tricky. There is a sign indicating that the turnoff is just ahead (Mountainside Dr.), but it's at the top of a hill and comes up quick so be on the look out for that. The parking lot is a nice size, but it does fill up so you may find yourself parking of the side of the road that leads to the parking lot. There is a nice kiosk with info on the area and a bathroom in the parking lot.
