SaveThe Lower Basin of the Little Sand Creek Watershed consists of the zone below the Roundabout on Schweitzer Mountain Road down to the switchback 2 trailhead, with around 1,600 vertical feet of beginner, intermediate, and advanced trail, including downhill only blue and black trails and a multi-directional green trail. All trails are maintained by Pend Oreille Pedalers with support from the City of Sandpoint, which is the primary landowner. Some segments of the Lower Basin trail network cross onto USFS property and Schweitzer property.

There are three access points to the Lower Basin trail network: a trailhead parking area just above the 2nd switchback on Schweitzer Mountain Road, a pullout at the 4th switchback on the road, and at the Schweitzer roundabout at the top of the Lower Basin trail network.
