Ludington School Forest Mountain Biking Trails

The Ludington School Forest trails are an entry-level trail system with respect to climbing or any hills but there is some slightly technical single track woven in the 8 mile trail system. The Shoreline Cycling Club created the trails with permission from the Ludington Area School District on their property. Exiting shared use trails which are much more mile exist in the forest as well. The trail system has hosted the Singletrack Showdown mountain bike race, a small grass roots event since 2012. The north section of trails are groomed in the winter for a fat bike trail system.

The Ludington Urban Singletrack Trail System comprises of three different sections of trail, linked by streets. The School Forest Section, entrances A, B and C, is fairly flat, and offers mixed use trails that are wider for beginners. Once comfortable on the mixed use, riders can transition to the singletrack. Popping out of the north section at entrance C, riders can follow Sherman Road to Ivanhoe Street, just past Lendale the Memorial Tree Park section runs between points D and E on the map below, there are flags where the singletrack starts (we’re working on signs) riders can then follow the roads to Cartier Park and enter any of those spots marked F, G or H.
