SaveThere are a number of trails around Manteigas all starting at the BTT center in Manteigas (http://centrodebtt.cm-manteigas.pt/). The looped trails vary from green to black. They are all a mix of paved, fire road and single track.The colour indication is more indicative of the length and vertical than of the difficulty of the trails per se. Most of the trails are not MTB specific and XC focused, no build berms or anything like that and there is a fair amount of fire roads and asphalt in all of the loops. Its not epic mountain biking but the loops are fun and interesting from a "natural beauty" point of view. Signposting is not consistent so be prepared.
Connections to nearby Serra de Estella are possible and there is another BTT center on the other side of the mountains in Seia (http://www.fpciclismo.pt/centrosdebtt/index.php?r=centrobtt/view&id=10). The trails on the Seia Side are not on Trailforks (yet) and are an even wilder mix of asphalt but also some really steep single track thrown in for good measure.
The area has a lot to offer but it is tough to find your way.
