SaveKeep singletrack single, do not turn cryptobiotic soil crust to dust There are over 170 miles of DIRECTIONAL trails in this area. Most of these trails are for avid riders with advanced skills. Trails within the badlands are specifically for FAT BIKES to minimize trail impact due to the sandy/loose soils and arroyos that make up a large part of this trail system. There are some trails (with slightly more stable soil) above and to the west of the badlands that are accessible via plus tire size bikes (the area of Twisted Tree trail and Taint torture Trail and Cranky Crow Trail). Just AVOID dropping into any of the badlands if you DON’T have a fat bike. These trails are not easy!! Be prepared. If you don’t own a fat bike this area is reason alone to get one. No horses except for Super fat bike loop on the East side of Unser.

Park at the Community Center and start with the Parkway Fat Bike Trail. Just to the east. The trail heads down and passes by the fire house in a clockwise direction. Parkway is a good practice loop and a sample of what’s out beyond the badlands. Once you are comfortable with the practice loop ride up to the top of Reservoir Road (via the singletrack) and head out to the main trail system starting with lower reservoir trail.
