Save*THE MINTURN BIKE PARK OPENED IN 2020
Background/History:
The Minturn Bike Park is a partnership between the Town of Minturn and the VVMTA. The VVMTA built the Mini Mile in 2017 and identified this open parcel of land owned by Minturn which is specifically designated for use as a park for outdoor recreation. The Minturn Town Council passed a Resolution in July 2019, officially partnering with the VVMTA who will submit a GOCO grant application in the fall of 2019. This bike park will provide significant economic opportunity not only for the Town of Minturn and its businesses, but our surrounding county as a whole increasing quality of life and health and well being.
Fundraising:
We need to raise $30,000 cash for this $250,000 project. This is the cash match requirement for the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) grant.
Please donate $5, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or whatever you can spare to help bring this free and open the public bike park to life.
Businesses can support the bike park by becoming a Business Partner or joining our 1% for Trails program . Sponsorship and naming rights are first come first served.

Who It’s For:
The Minturn Bike Park is for kids, families, and adults. The park will draw kids and beginners who want to begin, improve, and progress their bike riding abilities. There will be shade structures, water, restrooms, and picnic areas for families to gather. The park will also include advanced level dirt jumps and technical gravity trail features with rock drops, wood features, bridges and more! Finally, the first and only specific adaptive mountain bike trail and dual slalom course in Eagle County will be built in the Minturn Bike Park.
Design:
The park will feature kid and beginner friendly pump track and green flow trails. It will also feature blue and black gravity flow trails and advanced dirt jumps for the more progressive riders. Additionally, the park will include a dual slalom course and the first adaptive mountain bike trail in Eagle County. FlowRide Concepts, a professional trail building company based out of the Denver area is leading the design and construction of the bike park. Local architecture and design firm, Zehren and Associates has also partnered with the project to provide the site plan and illustrative plan.
Partners:
We are partnering with the Minturn and greater Eagle County community to build this Free and open to the public amenity for all locals and visitors. Partners on board supporting the project include Town of Minturn, Vail Rec District, Mountain Rec, Zehren & Associates, Cycle Effect, Eagle County Schools, SOS Outreach, Vail Jr. Cycling Program, and more.
Timeline:
Pending a successful GOCO grant in March 2020, construction would begin in May of 2020 and be completed in the fall of 2020. If we do not receive community support we will not be successful winning the grant which means the bike park will not be built in 2020. In the case of an unsuccessful grant, we plan on re-applying for a GOCO grant in 2021.
If we are not awarded the grant in 2020, as a financial supporter you have two options with your donation:
1. We will hold money in the form of a trust and use it toward a GOCO application in 2021
2. We will refund your money upon your request if we are not awarded the grant in March 2020
