Musquash Conservation is one of the better, and more clearly marked, trail systems near Manchester. It is possible to grab over 20 miles here with very little backtrack/overlap, and there is a little something for everyone as far as range of difficulty. While mostly moderately difficult cross country type terrain, there are sections all over the place that require a bit more skill to complete. Rip it up on the Deer and Porcupine trail loops, and shoot over on Piper's for some rocky problems. Heron is a nice, long trail that provides some decent challenges, and don't miss Trivial Pursuit, Whaddya Think and Three Sisters for solid, twisty, beautiful NH singletrack. Shoots and Ladders and White are good trails for the slightly more skilled, but there are little sections on most trails to challenge the skills. But don't be looking for any really extended climbing here. This is short, punchy stuff that never climbs too long. Some trails can be rooty to be sure, so find what you like and make a route! Enjoy!
