      Connecticut's largest State Forest of 26,000+ acres over 6 towns: Voluntown, Griswold, North Stonington, Sterling, Plainfield, and Preston. Features a popular 58 mile Moto Route, a dedicated horse camp with 3 marked loops up to 14 miles, plus youth, backpack, and RV/tent campsites. Home to a rare Atlantic White Cedar swamp, July-blooming native rhododendron, and massive stands of mountain laurel that put on stunning displays in early June. Trails for registered motorcycles, mountain bikes, and blue-blazed hike-only trails with connections to a large trail network in neighboring Rhode Island and Hopeville Pond State Park with more camping and swimming opportunities.
