SaveSet within the privately owned, productive working, Pan Pac ‘Tangoio’ Forest, Pan Pac MTB Park is built and maintained by Hawkes Bay Mountain Bike Club. It is located 15 minutes drive north of Napier, on the East Coast of the North Island.
Our park was extensively damaged by Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2022, leading to the permanent closure of the old Mill Block tracks. We have now reestablished an entirely new network of tracks in the Waipunga block, and restored old tracks in the Replanted Block. As of December 2023, we have around 40km of singletrack, plus connecting forestry roads. There are tracks suitable for all ages and abilities- ranging from grade 2 to 5.
The Waipunga Block offers 290m of elevation from it's highest point. These newly established tracks are out in the open, amongst pine saplings, with amazing views of the Esk Valley, the sea, and Napier.
The Replanted Block tracks are amongst mature pine trees (great on a hot summers day), and best suited to more experienced riders.
As it is a privately owned, commercial ‘working’ forest, a permit is required for access. Obtain your permit by joining the HBMTBC www.hawkesbaymtb.co.nz
