Petty Mountain is on the western edge of the Grave Creek Range and is the highest peak in the range. It's visible from many places around Missoula but difficult to spot because it does not stand out from the gently sloping ridge. The peak area offers unique alpine riding at a relatively low elevation and great views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. The trails that provide access to the high country and generally steep and challenging.
