SavePike Lake Provincial Park, near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is home to one of Winter Fatbiking’s newest trail networks. Over 15 km of well-marked, fast, and flowy trails are groomed on either side of the lake in the park. Trail access if from the skating area near the Pike Lake Community Hall and features a lake crossing to reach the East Bank Trails and another lake Crossing to reach the West Bank Trails. The east side trails are heavily forested and well sheltered from the wind and feature some tight twisting singletrack sections and not a lot of elevation change. The West Bank trails weave through the golf course and XC ski area and consist of flowy trails that have a lot more elevation change with a mix of more open area and some sheltered wooded areas.
The best place to start your ride is by the skating area where you will find the heated porta-potti restrooms.
