SaveThe SCMTBC has very kindly been granted access to the Raincliff forest, owned and operated by Blakely Pacific, to develope MTB trails. A condition of this access is that the club be affiliated with Mountain Bike NZ for insurance purposes. Access to the forest is only allowed in the evenings and weekends.
An existing walking track (Hoare Track) can be ridden right through from the top to bottom of the forest. Watch out for walkers It was built for them. From this, Wally and his willing workers have developed a new MTB track runing parallel to the south of the walking track. The new track joins the walking track in the middle. Further tracks will be developed from there.
The Walking track has steps in it – so if you are not comfortable take the first run slowly to check them out and decide if you want to ride them.
