      El área comprende una amplia zona que pertenece a los términos de Algaida , Llucmajor , Montuïri y Porreres . El macizo está formado, entre otros, por el montes de Randa (548 m), de son Reus (501 m) de ses Bruixes y de s’Escolà, erigiéndose en la zona de máxima altitud del Plan de Mallorca.
      Desde la cima de la montaña de Randa se puede observar los días claros, casi la totalidad de la isla de Mallorca, además de Cabrera, convirtiéndose en una balconada inmejorable para contemplar el paisaje del Pla y la Maria que se extiende a su alrededor.
