SaveThe Rangeley area offers some great Mountain Biking. The terrain is mountainous and the views are fantastic. You'll experience single and double track, gravel roads, logging roads and wilderness riding. You'll find (and go through) streams, ponds, deep forests, and open fields and see wildlife in their natural habitat.
Before embarking on a ride, there are some basic rules one should follow. Preplan your trip; let someone know where you are riding and carry a map. Don't bike alone and stay in sight of each other on the trail. Have your bike checked out (lubricated, adjusted) before starting. At least one person in your party should carry a tool kit including: extra tubes, mini pump, tire levers, multi-tool, chain tool, extra chain link, tube patch kit, and spoke replacement. In addition, a compact first aid kit is handy to have along.
