The Rayburn Trail Network in Millbury, Massachusetts, is a masterclass in New England style forest trails With close to 20 miles of tight, twisting and moderately technical trails packed into a surprisingly small area, Rayburn is one of the best kept secrets in the Blackstone Valley. Challenging but not over the top, the emphasis is on fun, surprise and anticipation. The compact trails make outstanding use of the abundant natural features of the land and relatively large elevation changes are brilliantly designed to make it feel surprisingly easy. Nothing on these trails are exceptionally hard, but taken together Rayburn is a solid and enjoyable workout.

While there are numerous access points to the trails, the most popular is from under the power lines at 12 Rayburn Street, Millbury. If you go up the Access Trail under the power lines, 80% of the trails are to the right and 20 % to the left of the trail. About 100 yards up the trail there is an obvious crossing from where you can access the trails ( named for the Three Stooges and related themes) on both the right and the left. Trail signage is skimpy but look for small brown signs about 10 feet up in trees 10 to 15 feet into the different trails.
