SaveRedesdale is an awesome cross-country loop, tight, twisty, rocky and steep (sometimes all at once). Most years an event is run here which seems about the only maintenance done, otherwise it is a quiet area with no facilities. Due to rocky soils and being well north of the dividing range the trail is usually dry, even after recent rain. As much of the forest here got flattened in the 2009 fires, it can be exposed and hot in the summer.
Watch out for roos and wallabies as they dont see many people and react unpredictably - I've had have several run past me and one jump right over me while riding out here. Also watch out for dense spider webs in the northern section during spring - not sure if they are dangerous but their big green eyes freak me right out.
