The Retreat Farm offers several ways to access the nine-mile Retreat Trail recreation network. Trails are free and open to the public year-round to hike, run, cross-country ski and snowshow. Mountain bikers and equestrians are also welcome. No motorized vehicles. Pets are welcome on leashes. Owners must clean up after their pets. Please pack out what you bring in. In the fall, we recommend wearing blaze orange while on our trails.

      History
These trails were originally created by the Brattleboro Retreat in the 1800s and have been used by the Brattleboro community for years. In 2006 and 2007, the Windham Foundation and Brattleboro Retreat worked with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) to revitalize the trails to make them more environmentally sound and easier to follow. Today, Retreat Farm works with the Windham Foundation and the Brattleboro Retreat to maintain the trails. We hope you enjoy them.
